PHOENIX, AZ - The Vince Lombardi Trophy has been the target much criticism recently in regards to it’s lean stature. Fans are rallying that the award for winning the biggest single sporting event of the year should be equally the biggest award of the year.
The Vince Lombardi Trophy however has fought back, claiming that size is not an issue. The trophy went on record saying “It’s not about the size of the trophy, but instead how you hoist it.”
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has defended The Vince Lombardi Trophy’s below average size as a matter of game economics, “We have to make and hand out one of these every year. The NFL is barely breaking even as it is, one inch longer and the NFL would be deep in the hole and the verge of folding.”
