    Creepy

In Your Face

By Mark

General, The Main Event

Sometimes I do strange things for personal amusement. This is the story of one of those times.

First off, I am admittedly a people watcher. There are several types of people on the subway: book readers, sleepers, blank starers, music listeners, text messagers (even though we all know you don’t have reception…), and of course the people watchers. There are several varieties of people watchers, ranging from creepy to mother-like. I tend to look around and notice people with any strange quirks, see what books people are reading, and of course take note of hot babes (coolshades!)

However this is not an in depth analysis of people watching. That would be boring. Instead I bring you one of my people watching adventures!

I had had a few drinks in me and I was on my way home on the subway. As I got on the train I was presented with an old tiny little Japanese man standing directly in front of me with extremely pale white skin. I’m intrigued. So I decide that due to my height advantage and strategic position, I can easily take a picture of this guy with my iphone while making it look like I’m just playing with my phone/organizer. Why would I do this? No idea, but at the time it seemed hilarious. I was right.

Note: Keep in mind that the iphone does not have any zooming features.

So I get in closer to take a look.

Holy moly, look at that rogue eyebrow hair! How on earth has that not been dealt with? I continue the investigation.

At this point I am basically right in his face, pretending to be checking my schedule. The rogue eyebrow has drawn me in but now I have noticed a 2nd little gem with this dude… dangling from his glasses you will notice the loops from what presumably was a neck strap. The neck strap however is nowhere to be seen, perhaps it broke off, but our good friend left the loops on there for my enjoyment! Again, I decide to investigate a little closer

…closer…

At this point I am just seeing how close I can get to this guy’s face, and still take pictures without getting his attention. I am reaching the minimum range now for my camera’s focal length. But I don’t hold back. Must. investigate. closer.

God bless America. Our tiny friend never even looked up the entire time, he just kept reading his awesome Japanese newspaper. Awesome.

Tune in next time for more silly subway stories!
